Metal God Essentials: Vol. 1 (07.31.2007)

Metal God Essentials Vol. 1 is a collection of some of the best metal ever recorded, from the Metal God himself, Halford. This disc contains the absolute best of Halford’s solo efforts, both with Fight and in Halford, that any fan will enjoy listening to. Also included on this are two new unreleased tracks, “Forgotten Generation” and “Drop Out,” both of which seriously rock. For the true Halford fan all the essentials are here, including Into “The Pit,” and “Nailed To The Gun,” both of which were released on the original Fight Album. and which still sound just as good, over a decade later.
Other songs included on this disc worth mentioning are “Slow Down,” ”Trail Of Tears” and a European remix version of “Redemption,” all of which were originally recorded under the Halford moniker.
As an added treat for Halford fans a bonus DVD is included with this package. If you are inquisitive and want to learn more about the Metal God this disc is for you. The DVD contains tons of rare unseen footage including a look into the recording of some of these songs as well as behind the scenes clips and interviews from as early as 1999. Also included in this DVD is a live video from 2001 at Rock In Rio as well as videos for “Forgotten Generation,” “Never Satisfied” and “Silent Screams”
As a huge Halford fan from the early days I think this is a definitive collection of non-Priest, Halford tunes that will satisfy even the most discriminating Metal Head.
