Recently, Greg Darva talked with Society 1 guitarist, Sin. They chatted about the new album, touring, social media and their new record deal.
Who are you? What band are you in? and what do you do in the band?
Sin: My name is Sin, I play guitar in SOCIETY 1.
You guys have a new album, “The Sound That Ends Creation”. How have people been receiving this new album?
Sin: I think the response has been positive for the most part. We kind of went out there on this record and took some chances. But then again, that’s kind of what we’re known for.
You guys have been doing lots of touring, where is some of your favorite places to play?
Sin: Well, having just recently played the Download Festival in the UK in front of 25,000 people, I would have to say the UK! We’ve played the US, Canada, Europe and the UK. There are so many cool places to play for so many different reasons. I really dig playing the South….
Any interesting road stories to tell?
Sin: Here’s one I haven’t mentioned for quite some time. Sometimes during our set I extend my guitar out and let fans touch it while I’m playing. Well, this one particular girl proceeded to touch it, and touch it, and touch it… After our set she came up to me at our merch table and handed me something and told me to not look at it till I was alone. So I put what she gave me in my pocket. When I went to the bathroom I pulled it out of my pocket and saw it was her panties. They were a little “damp” and she wrote “thanks for the orgasm”….
Do you make it a point to be easily reached for your fans online? Myspace is a great way for fans to reach bands they love to give them feedback I think, what are your thoughts on sites like that?
Sin: I agree, and Im all for being in contact with fans. We always make it a point to sign autographs, take pictures, and just talk with as many people as possible.
How is your record label treating you and the new album?
Sin: No comment….
What is your favorite song on the new record?
Sin: My favorite song on the new record is “I Love Her”.
Can you run down your current rig?
Sin: My live guitar rig: BC Rich Mockingbird and Samick Cobra. My amp rig is a Line 6 HD 147 with 2 4×12 Line 6 cabs.
If you could have one Society 1 song put into our sites radio rotation, what would it be?
Sin: “I Love Her”!!
Name some other underground bands you think people should check out.
Sin: Hmm, well I don’t know how underground they are but I really dig The Dreaming.
Any Last Words?
Sin: Go out and buy “The Sound That Ends Creation”!!
