Back in 2009, when I first started writing for this site, I got the chance to review one of my favorite metal CDs. This magnificent album was none other than Unspoken Words by Quebec’s very own technical death metal darlings, Derelict. It is now 2012 and the group have recorded a follow up, entitled Perpetuation, which I again got the privilege of reviewing. With my uber-high standards has Derelict been able to keep me as satisfied as its predecessor?
Set for release on April 20th, Derelict are primed and ready to unleash their latest and greatest slew of neck-snapping songs, Perpetuation, unto the unsuspecting and unprepared world of metal.
Thrash death metal band Derelict released one of my favourite albums back in 2009 with Unspoken Words. In 2011 they followed that up with a digital, three song promo EP giving us a taste of what the future holds. I recently got the chance to ask guitarist Max Lussier some questions about his BBE Sonic Maximizer 362 Rack Piece that completes his sound.
If you ask a metal head what they look for in a band they will usually state these four properties: heaviness, thrash, technical and energy. These properties are the make and break standard for bands in metal. Derelict, a band from Montreal, Quebec has conquered all four on their latest album Unspoken Words.
