Seattle’s AVOID Debut Ripping Cover of Foo Fighters’ “Weenie Beenie”
Seattle, WA-based band, AVOID has unveiled a bad-ass cover of the Foo Fighters original, “Weenie Beenie.” The song is lifted from the revered rocker’s self-titled debut (released July 4th, 1995) which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The Foos happen to be one of AVOID’s single biggest musical inspirations so the cover was a no-brainer, especially considering how ripping the song is.
AVOID frontman Benny Scholl commented on the track, stating, “This has been one of our favorite songs for as long as we can remember. The Foo’s have been a big part of our musical journey. Some of the first songs our guitarist Nick and I ever jammed together were Foo Fighters songs. There aren’t very many bands with a discography as diverse as theirs, and they continue to inspire us every day.”
AVOID formed as recently as 2017 and dropped their debut full-length, Alone, in 2018 via Revival Recordings with 1.5 million+ streams to date.
