The Black Moods – “Medicine” [Album Review]
Medicine is one of those discs that you can turn up, kick back and enjoy the hell out of without a care in the world. Read our review here…
Every once in a while a record comes along that just grabs my attention and sucks me in for the duration and I have to say Medicine, the new release from The Black Moods is one of those records. This Arizona trio taps into a past musical era channeling the likes of some of the greats like Jim Morrison and the Beatles before adding their own signature sound to the mix creating a high energy rock n’ roll album that is hard to put down and unlike anything I have heard in a long time.
The retro, stripped down sound is loaded with infectious guitar work and exceptionally catchy choruses that will have you singing along in no time at all. I really love this record, for me it is one of the best of the year. Flying the classic rock flag loud and proud The Black Moods shine bright in a scene is flooded with mediocre run of the mill drivel.
This truly is a gem of a record from top to bottom and might be the dose of hard rock the genre needs desperately; it is one of those discs that you can turn up, kick back and enjoy the hell out of without a care in the world.
