Obey The Brave – “Salvation” [Album Review]
Salvation is an unrelenting, violent disc that more than establishes the Canadian act, Obey The Brave, as a formidable force to be reckoned with.
Salvation is an unrelenting, violent disc that more than establishes the Canadian act, Obey The Brave, as a formidable force to be reckoned with.
Opener “Short Fuse” blows the barn door wide open, releasing an unbridled fury and aggression that lays waste to everything in its path, ear drums included. The dirty, crunchy guitar sounds and breakneck drum beats, coupled with ferocious vocals, are the perfect ingredients for a massive circle pit and plenty of stage diving. Song after grinding song, this slab of murderous metal/hardcore pummels the listener into submission leaving them spent, yet crawling back for more.
Mixed in amongst the fury and chaos though, you will find many nuances that you may have missed upon a first listen. Even though this is a brutal disc, there is a lot of talent present and tons of stuff going on in the background. This all said, Salvation is a killer disc that is sure to bring this group hoards of new fans, myself included.
