The Balconies – “Fast Motions” [Album Review]
If you’re looking for something new to listen to, something solid, catchy and energetic, than look no further than Fast Motions by The Balconies. This Toronto, Canada-based rock outfit combines just the right amount of indie music together with a solid dose of pop rock creating an intoxicatingly fun listen.

The first few raw, fuzzy notes of disc opener, “Boys and Girls,” sucked me in with its gritty, over-driven qualities and from there my attention stayed for the remainder of the album. Throughout Fast Motions the riff-driven rhythms continue to amass and are complimented perfectly by Jacquie Neville’s powerfully soulful vocals.
There are no bells, whistles or fancy production tricks here, just honest, unpretentious rock and roll. I honestly can’t say much more about this record except that it really is an incredibly solid listen. Once you’ve gotten a taste I dare you to put it down; there’s a good chance you won’t be able to.
