Lower Lands – “Reality in Routine” [Song Review]
I don’t know much about pop-punk. In fact, the last known memory of me actually enjoying the genre is Fall Out Boy’s 2003 release Take This to Your Grave (you know, before the members had recurring roles on One Tree Hill). But, alas, I grew up and my ears developed an affinity for indie-folk instead.

Lower Lands, an alt-rock, punk(ish) group from Britain, recently found their way onto my music rotation and pose an uncanny resemblance to my high-school listening habits. The lead single “Reality in Routine” from their new EP Growing Pains is brash (in a good way); the lyrics are a notch above mediocre and the sound is a drenching of pop-punk goodness and hard-hitting instrumentation.
Their album drops soon and I have no doubt they’ll keep things fast and intense, delivering a supply of catchy songs that border predictability, but are never boring.
Run Time: 3:19
