Album Review
Cannabis Corpse – “Beneath Grow Lights Thou Shalt Rise”
Andy “Weedgrinder” Horn, Philip “Landphil” Hall, Nick “Nikropolis” Poulos and Josh “HallHammer” Hall are back to smoke up the metal scene with their latest album, Beneath Grow Lights Thou Shalt Rise. Taking time off from their other bands (Municipal Waste, Volture, Battlemaster, Parasytic) the members of Cannabis Corpse have once again delivered some brutal, stoner death metal.

All twelve tracks take on a 90s style of death metal, complete with brutal and elaborate instrumentals that never overstep the boundaries of becoming too complicated; on top of which are Andy “Weedgrinder” Horn’s low growls. Beneath Grow Lights Thou Shalt Rise is an above-average death metal record that per usual, covers the key concept of marijuana. While I personally don’t smoke up, I can still appreciate Cannabis Corpse for their great music, and parodied song titles and band name.
