Bret Michaels Ft. Miley Cyrus – “Nothing to Lose” [Song Review]

Two singers. Both are TV stars. Both have long luscious locks. So I guess with their similarities we can assume that Bret Michaels and Miley Cyrus had more to chat about during studio breaks than initial speculation might otherwise suggest. Their obvious chemistry on Bret’s latest single “Nothing To Lose” also indicates that these two aren’t as musically mis-matched as they might seem.
Michaels recently defended his decision to re-record the song with Miley (after he originally recorded a solo version) due to some apparent controversy over the fact that he’s putting out a song containing romantically inclined lyrics, with a 17 year old Disney star. The controversy isn’t completely unwarranted, as he croons to his co-vocalist to “slowly get undressed.” But to his credit, her voice does work well on the track.
So is it any good? Well, it’s OK. It’s a pleasantly mediocre rock ballad that would no doubt suit a slow-motion-walking, wind-machine-blowing-hair-back, possibly wandering-through-an-Arizona-desert themed music video. If you’re a hardcore Miley or Michaels fan, you’ll probably love it. If you’re a pop or rock fan, you might like it. If you listen to commercial radio, you’ll inevitably hear it at some point. If you don’t fit into any of these categories, you’re probably better off not bothering. [ END ]
