Polaris (w/Silent Planet, Thornhill, Paledusk) Headline Emotional Night at Manchester O2 Ritz [Photos]
Photos of Aussie metalcore crew Polaris’ emotional set in Manchester with support from Paledusk, Thornhill & Silent Planet.
If you’re a fan of techy, progressive metalcore then this four band bill headlined by Polaris should be right up your street. The Australian outfit have had a turbulent eighteen months including the tragic passing of guitarist Ryan Siew along with the release of their emotionally-charged new album Fatalism.
Opening the bill on this tour is Japanese progressive metalcore band Paledusk who display the kind of pumped-to-the-max energy that simply demands your attention even of those people who spend the first couple of hours at the bar/merch. Fellow Australians Thornhill are next up and, judging by the reaction from the crowd, they have no issues grabbing the attention of the crowd with their ferocious but expanisive metalcore.
Main support for the tour and clearly a popular choice are Californian science-fiction inspired metalcore crew Silent Planet. Still touring in support of their stunning Superbloom album from 2022, their intricate metalcore and use of projectors is mesmerizing to watch and the perfect set up for the return of the headliners.
As for the headliners, well, Polaris need no introduction around these parts. Coming from the ever-impressive Australian heavy music scene, the Sydney outfit show that, while they’ve yet to reach the heady-heights of some of the big-hitters of the scene, they have the material, the talent and the live show to match them all the way. With emotion running through their whole set, there wasn’t one person in the room who didn’t feel every moment of this mammoth set.
Our photographer Maryleen Photography went along to Manchester and you can check out her awesome photo gallery of all four bands below.
