Seth Glier – “Mammoth” [Song Review]
Bordering on the mystical, enveloped in intricate, plush layers of sound, Seth Glier’s “Mammoth” ushers in the feeling of reaching for the stars.
Grammy-nominated folk/indie-pop singer-songwriter releases his new single, “Mammoth,” a track from his forthcoming album, Everything, set to drop on January 26th, 2024.
“Mammoth,” inspired by the work of scientists attempting to take a DNA sample from a frozen woolly mammoth in Siberia and bring it back to life, reveals the blip of human history against billions of years of evolution.
Hailing from Western Massachusetts, Glier’s upcoming album, Everything, is a collection of eight songs inviting us to imagine a future in which humans and the planet are re-aligned into mutual restoration. Each song presents a practical climate solution with concrete optimism.
“Mammoth” rolls out on soft, gleaming tones riding a gentle rhythm as Glier’s supple, velvety vocals imbue the lyrics with warm, tender timbres. A sparkling piano infuses the melody with luminous accents. On the outro, the harmonics assume dramatic depth and resonant dimension before dropping to shimmering colors.
Bordering on the mystical, enveloped in intricate, plush layers of sound, “Mammoth” ushers in the feeling of reaching for the stars.
