NYC Rockers SUSU Channel Riot Grrrl Attitude on New Single “Dark Angel” [Premiere]
New York firecrackers SUSU channel some real riot-grrrl attitude in their rippin’ new single “Dark Angel.” Check out our premiere here…
New York rock and roll outfit SUSU are following up the critical success of their recent singles “Come and Get Some Me,” “Die Inside,” “Waiting,” “Rubber Hits The Road,” and “MINE,” with their new track “Dark Angel.”
The track, lifted from their upcoming album, Call Susie, which will drop later this year, channels a heady dose of riot grrrl attitude, punk-rock and soul, with nods to Blondie, Bikini Kill, The Strokes, Iggy & The Stooges, L7 and Queens of the Stone Age. Unsurprisingly, we’re honoured to be premiering this three-minute slice of attitude!
Speaking about the track, SUSU says:
“‘Dark Angel’ is in it to win it as it is our 10th single off Call Susie. Boasting power vocals and a rippin’ guitar riff, she’s a pleaser and a teaser dealing pure punk out your speakers. This is the hand; a perfect play for lovers, an ex, or one night stand.”
The New York City outfit features firebrand female lead vocalists and songwriters Liza Colby of the Liza Colby Sound, Kia Warren of Revel In Dimes, guitarist/producer Joey Wunsch, bassist/Halloween aficionado Connor McClelland, and drummer/Queens legend Ronald Anthony Bruno of Dry Clean Only describe their sound as a rock ‘n’ roll wildfire ignited in 2019 with their debut EP, Panther City.
The band are set to release Call Susie later this year and promises fans a genre-bending, shapeshifting conversation between Warren and Colby’s formidable vocal prowess and the band’s undeniable chemistry.
