Will Evans Shares Tale of Near Drowning in New Single, “All My Relations”
In his new single “All My Relations,” Will Evans talks about his near-drowning experience off the coast of icy Rhode Island waters while surfing.
Delivering an unforgettable anthem to start the new year, conscious roots artist and frontman of the New England roots Rock band Barefoot Truth, Will Evans, shares a glimpse of what was a terrifying memory for the artist.
In his new single “All My Relations,” Evans talks about his near-drowning experience off the coast of icy Rhode Island waters while surfing. Having experienced a traumatic gambit of near-death thoughts, his existentialism hits home as he contemplates his next steps while on the verge of leaving his own body. Paired with a dynamically scenic music video, Evans delivers perhaps his most vulnerable hit yet ahead of his upcoming album this March.
He comments:
“Over the world, hope it hovers, like a lighthouse lonely song. One day we wake up in a league of lovers, and we’ll fight against our wrongs. For if we were led here and our lives were fated, as if guided one by one. Shall we meet again will our souls be mated? After the burnt out sun.”
A lifelong surfer and environmentalist, Evans’ songs speak to the importance of connecting with—and protecting—the earth. At a time when so many are looking for words of inspiration and reassurance, his songs deliver messages of family, love, hope, and inclusion. Will Evans has shared the stage with many top artists, including Crosby & Nash, Grace Potter, Bruce Hornsby, Rusted Root, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Trevor Hall, Xavier Rudd, Donavon Frankenreiter, Six60, Ryan Montbleau, Railroad Earth, and members of Dispatch.
