Genre-bending artist Xan DuBose presents the second single,  “Vice,” from her highly anticipated upcoming EP set to release in August 2024.

“Vice” showcases what makes DuBose an “artist on the rise” – her powerhouse vocals that leave audiences confident and empowered. Effortlessly blending elements of jazz, soul, and contemporary country flavour, DuBose’s voice is uniquely her own and sets the perfect sassy cadence for what the song is about… succumbing to one’s own “vice.” For some, it’s money; for some, it’s alcohol, but in this song, the vice is a relationship… a person you can’t live without.

Evoking a particularly pop-country-western feel in this track, “Vice” is brought to life by the musicians behind the track. Ripping guitars and golden-coloured piano and organ bits give the song a unique flair that inspired DuBose to add her stylings of vocal stacks that “blow it out” in the best way possible. “I sang those lyrics and the harmonies with all the strength I had left and I really think we hit it out of the park,” says DuBose. “I’m so thankful the musicians in the room were able to set the stage for this style of singing and that it all came together so beautifully.”

Xan DuBose is an exceptionally talented singer-songwriter hailing from the vibrant musical scenes of Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina. With a captivating voice that effortlessly blends elements of jazz, soulful vocals, contemporary sounds, and a touch of country flavour, Xan’s music resonates with listeners profoundly.

Since debuting in the SC music scene in 2013, Xan has become a recognizable and highly sought-after artist. She gained considerable acclaim as a member of Patrick DavisMidnight Choir, a testament to her remarkable vocal prowess and stage presence. Her performances alongside acclaimed artists such as Darius Rucker, Thomas McClary, Charles Kelley, and others have further solidified her reputation as a standout talent.
