Royal Blood Celebrate 10 Year Anniversary with Raucous Brixton Academy Gig [Photos]
Royal Blood celebrates the 10th anniversary of their debut album with a raucous London Brixton Academy gig. Check out the photos here…
A few days before this gig, Brighton rock duo Royal Blood were performing to 70,000 fans on the Main Stage at Download Festival where the pair were special guests to headliners Queens of the Stone Age.
Their lofty position on the bill at one of rock music’s most prestigious rock festivals shows just how far the band have come since the release of their debut album ten years ago. Along with a slew of additional tracks on a still-to-be-released special edition of the album, the Brighton outfit followed their appearance at Download with a number of more intimate shows include a pair of nights at Brixton Academy in London where they were joined by rising Liverpool alt-rock outfit Crawlers.
Whether it be in some of the UK’s more intimate venues or rocking out at pretty much any of the UK and Europe’s festival gigs, the Brighton duo of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher have established themselves as one of the top names in British rock something a decade-long career pays testament to. Rightfully so, the pair pay homage to their debut running through the album in its entirety and our photographer was on hand to capture the first of these two special gigs in London.
