The Drood Release Their Latest Psych-Rock LP, ‘The Book of Drood’
Denver-based psychedelic rock band The Drood has released their expansive, impressive latest album ‘The Book of Drood.’

On Friday, March 1st, Denver-based experimental psych-rock band The Drood released their latest LP, The Book of Drood, to all major music platforms.
The fourth LP from the Colorado music collective is a return to form after their previous ambient and noise-inflected album, Superposition. Nathaniel Jamiel’s ethereal vocals lead the groove-oriented percussion and bass team of Daniel Watts and Hayden Peltier through nine tracks of cinematic, serpentine psych-tinged art-rock in the vein of Spiritualized, Kid A, and SPK – music for the discriminating psychonaut. The album features a guest appearance by Randall Frazier of Orbit Service and The Legendary Pink Dots, and a new music video for the song “Static Time” by master monster animator Wizardhead!
Active for over a decade, The Drood has released several LPs, singles, and music videos. Their eclectic nature has led them to explore a wide range of styles, including dance, noise-rock, ambient drones, and ballads, and they are not afraid to inject a touch of wry humour into the mix. The band has worked with many musicians, including Big City Orchestra and Randall Frazier (of The Legendary Pink Dots and Orbit Service), and collaborated on many releases with Dead Voices On Air (the solo project of Mark Spybey, founding member of Download, Zoviet France, and Beehatch).
The Book of Drood was written, performed, recorded, and mixed by The Drood in Lafayette, Colorado, between 2020 and 2023. It was mastered by Anatoly Tokee Grinberg and Hayden Peltier.
