Knocked Loose (w/Deafheaven, Headbussa) Incite Mayhem at Manchester Academy [Photos]

Even before Kentucky metallic hardcore titans Knocked Loose dropped their jaw breaking new single “Blinded Faith”, the excitement for their return to the UK was almost rabid. Couple that with the news that Ohio’s cult post-metal outfit Deafheaven would be special guests and you have a mouthwatering line-up. Rounding out the line-up were French hardcore bruisers Headbussa.

Now it’s been a minute or two since post-metal crew Deafheaven have graced these shores with their presence so their dark, ambient, ferocious set is greeted like a returning hero. The likes of “Sunbather” and “Dream House”, far from getting lost in the live environment, provide a devastating, brutal warm-up. Furthermore, as for being a bit of an odd choice this crowd who, in less than an hour, will be losing their shit, absolutely lap it up.

Knocked Loose are possibly one of the most exciting live bands around at the moment. They’ve risen from underground hardcore favourites to one of the hottest tickets on the block. It’s a journey that has taken them from small hardcore venues to festivals (via Coachella) and now a pretty much sold-out UK tour. With a new album on the way this Manchester crowd, front to back, lose their minds to the likes of “Denied by Fate” and “Blinding Faith”.
