Goddamn Wolves Roar Again with Their “Nowhere” Single Premiere
Raleigh indie rock three-piece Goddamn Wolves are premiering their latest riff-heavy, hard-hitting single “Nowhere.”
Today, we are taking this opportunity to get reacquainted with Goddamn Wolves, one of North Carolina’s finest. The indie rockers are unveiling their latest single, “Nowhere,” featuring more of the hard-hitting riffs and post-punk vibes you’ve come to expect from this talented trio.
Goddamn Wolves ensure to release music as frequently as they can, and we helped debut their “Older, Slower” b/w “Everything Real Is Free” singles earlier this year. “Nowhere” is another high-quality offering from the band, as it features more vocals from their impressive bassist Laura McCullough. She has been contributing more songwriting, supplying more to the band’s unique male/female vocal interplay.
Commenting on the new single, drummer and singer Drew Foglia states:
“I feel a lot of pressure when recording. It’s just so permanent, but I absolutely love that we have a record of these songs. Found After Dark Studio does an amazing job capturing them, the attitude, energy, vibe, etc. And (artists/engineers) Max Gowan and Travis Harrington and their space make it a very enjoyable experience.”
Gowan and Harrington have become such crucial components of the band’s recording process now. They work out of the aforementioned Found After Dark Studio in Goddamn Wolves’ hometown of Raleigh. The band has recorded a series of singles with Gowan and Harrington, with more to come.
Formed in 2018, McCullough leads the way for the band, along with Foglia and frontman Chris Weilding. The latter is formerly of Hedwig and the Angry Inch band Cheater. The band is everything an indie act should be; they pay homage to those that they learned from, like Pixies, X, and the New Pornographers. But they also keep current, similar in tone to acts like The Beths and Bully. As long as we have bands like Goddamn Wolves around, we can rest assured there will be some quality indie rock to go around.
