The Kills landed in Vancouver for the fourth date of their “Good Games Tour on February 6th, at an almost at-capacity Commodore Ballroom, after nearly 20 years since The Kills’ first-ever show in Vancouver, dating back to March 26, 2005, at The Red Room.

The duo formed by singer Alison “W” Mosshart and guitarist Jamie “Hotel” Hince, brought along The Paranoyds, a Los Angeles-based rock band, and showcased their unique rifts, sound and takes, mixing garage rock, indie punk, and other sounds with a blend of their singles and covers of popular songs.

Mosshart and Hince took the stage, and the people went crazy. They started their set with “kissy kissy while both played the guitar, one of their classics from their first album, Keep on Your Mean Side. Then, they followed up with almost all songs from their latest album Good Games, tracks like “New York,” “Going to Heaven,” “Wasterpiece,” and others.

Mosshart movements all over the stage were captivating the audience, a perfect combination of sensuality and fierceness with an everlasting energy. In the middle of their set, during the last seconds of “Baby Says,” before moving to “Black Ballon,” Mosshart took out what looked like a disposable camera and took a few pictures from the fans.

After 17 songs, the duo wanted to end the show with “Future Starts Slow,” but after they left the stage, the fans called them to come back to the stage, and after a few minutes, they came back for an encore and did not just one song, a total of 4 songs, “Now What,” “My Girls My Girls,” “Sour Cherry” and “Fried My Little Brains” to please the hungry Vancouver crowd who have been missing the duo since their last concert in town back in 2018, but surely could have stayed to listen to more songs.
