Pierce The Veil Bring the Jaws of Life Tour to MGM Music Hall in Boston, MA [Photos]
Metalcore heavyweights Pierce The Veil brought their Jaws of Life Tour to MGM Music Hall, with friends LS Dunes, Dayseeker, and Destroy Boys.
Pierce The Veil brought “The Jaws of Life” tour to MGM Music Hall at Fenway, Boston, Massachusetts, on November 21st. They brought with them friends LS Dunes, Dayseeker, and Destroy Boys. What a night of both nostalgia and new memories to be made!
I had never heard of Destroy Boys until this tour was announced. I was pleasantly surprised at their sound and how much I liked them. Destroy Boys is a punk rock band based in California. They consist of vocalist Alexia Roditis and Violet Mayugba, who take turns playing guitar, drummer Narsai Malik, and bassist David Orozco. The band played an eight-song set of songs like “Drink,” “Crybaby,” “Muzzle,” and “Beg for the Torture.” The band has great energy; the girls really like to interact with the crowd!
Up next was another California-based band, Dayseeker! They’re a band I have seen again and again, and they get better every time! Vocalist Rory Rodriguez has such a soulful sound with lyrics to go along with it. They played seven songs like “Dreamstate,” “Burial Plot,” “Without Me,” and “Sleeptalk.” Dayseeker is a band not to be missed. They concluded their set with “Neon Grave.”
L.S. Dunes then arrived on stage next. They formed in 2022 in the midst of the pandemic, and what a supergroup of a band! The emo rockers are fronted by Anthony Green, two guitarists, Frank Iero and Travis Stever, bassist Tim Payne, and drummer Tucker Rule. They opened with their most popular song, “Permanent Rebellion,” and played other favourites like “Grey Veins,” “It Takes Time,” “2022,” and concluded with “Old Wounds.” Green is very big on moving around on stage, engaging with the crowd and swinging his mic while crooning his songs. Check the band out when you have a chance!
Last but not least, Pierce The Veil! Pierce The Veil has been a staple in my music taste since about 2010 and has been a part of who made me the Mexican emo girl I am today. The band played a mariachi song called “El Ray” as their intro, which had me shaking my hips as I waited for them to come out. After the Mariachi song ended, vocalist Vic Fuentes, guitarist Tony Perry, bassist Jamie Preciado, and drummer Loniel Robinson came on stage to play “Death of an Executioner” and the older number “Caraphernelia.”
The band played 13 songs that night with a mix of old and new tracks. During “Hold on Til May,” the band brought up a fan, and they got a guitar from Vic. “Bulletproof Love” was done acoustically. Other songs included “Circles,” “Pass the Nirvana,” “Hell Above,” and “The Jaws of Life.” They included two songs for their encore, “Besitos” and “King for a Day.”
