August Burns Red Celebrate a Decade of ‘Rescue & Restore’ at Worcester Palladium [Photos]
August Burns Red celebrated ten years of ‘Rescue & Restore’ at Worcester Palladium, along with Spite, Brand of Sacrifice, and Crystal Lake.
Another Friday night spent at the Worcester Palladium! This time with night one of August Burns Red, ten years of Rescue & Restore with bands Spite, Brand of Sacrifice, and Crystal Lake.
Crystal Lake started the night off right! With powerful chugs and breakdowns, this band was great to see live! They opened with their song “Mephisto” and played other recognizable tracks like “Six Feet Under,” “Disobey,” and “Lost in Forever.” During “Watch Me Burn,” there was a sea of crowd surfers coming up to the barricade and security. The band ended with “Apollo,” which was a hit with the audience, as evidenced by the moshing and head banging.
Brand of Sacrifice came on next and played a nine-song set. The Toronto-based deathcore band opened with songs “Dawn” and “Demon King.” Their setlist consisted of two live debut songs, “Purge,” which was a brand new song, and “Ruin.” They ended with their well-known closer, “Eclipse.” This band is a force to not be messed with.
Spite was amazing, like always! They also had a nine-song setlist that consisted of songs like “Made to Please,” “Caved In,” “Dedication to Flesh,” and “The Root of All Evil.” The California deathcore band had the audience moving, including myself, as I head banged to every song while not taking photos. They closed with “Kill or Be Killed.”
August Burns Red closed the night with ten years of Rescue & Restore. Vocalist Jake Luhrs came on stage sporting a grey beard. Maybe he’s getting ready for their Christmas shows? They played the album in its entirety, and there were many live debuts. With songs like “Treatment,” “Count it All as Lost,” “Sincerity,” “Echoes,” and “The First Step.” They also played “Creative Captivity” for the first time since 2013 and “Animals” for the first time since 2014. During their encore, they played five more songs, including “Carol of the Bells,” “Composure,” and ended with their most popular track, “White Washed.”
If you love deathcore and August Burns Red, then go check out this tour in a city near you. This was an exciting and energetic night!
