Gipsy Kings Featuring Tonino Baliardo Extends Their 2023 “Renaissance” Tour
The “Renaissance” Tour of the legendary group, Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo, has been extended through November of this year.
Loud And Live has announced that due to its overwhelming success, the tour of the legendary group Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo has been extended through November of this year. The “Renaissance” Tour, which started in April, has visited over fifteen cities in the US and Canada. The renowned band, which has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, has won two GRAMMY® Awards in a career that spans more than 30 years will take the stage in thirteen additional cities starting on Wednesday, October 25th in Tucson, Arizona, finishing in Greensboro, North Carolina on Sunday, November 12th. The Renaissance Tour coincides with the latest release of their new album of the same name, their first in eight years, which is being hailed as “an album full of gypsy passion and tradition drawn from true gypsy life.”
Gipsy Kings, featuring Tonino Baliardo, moves in a new direction. Continuing with their worldwide Renaissance Tour, they released a new track in English – “ABANDONADO” – in September, taken from their latest acclaimed album, RENAISSANCE. ABANDONADO English lyrics are written by Irish songwriter Brendan Graham, who wrote the lyrics to the multimillion-selling international hit “YOU RAISE ME UP” recorded by Josh Groban, Westlife and various other artists. Brendan has also won the Eurovision Song Competition twice with his compositions.
Brendan has always been a great admirer of the Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo. Brendan heard “Abandonado” from the Renaissance album and was so enthralled by the sentiment and passion of the song that he contacted Tonino with the idea of writing English lyrics for “Abandonado.” Tonino was excited at this suggestion from Brendan. In between Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo playing concert dates, which have included Europe, Malaysia, Middle East, Canada and the USA, they managed to find time to record the English version of “Abandonado” whilst retaining the same Gipsy tradition. Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo perform this version in a truly powerful and heart rendering way.
“Abandonado” is available now on all digital platforms worldwide to coincide with their ongoing worldwide Renaissance Tour, returning to the USA through the Fall of 2023 – further details and tickets can be found here.
