“Warm” is the new single from underground Toronto musical sensation Aiden Skira. A one-man show, 19-year-old Aidan Skira’s vision is all his own: self-taught, self-produced, self-animated. With early traction on SoundCloud and tastemaker YouTube channels, he is now becoming a staple in the underground live music scene in Toronto.
He’s driven by a visceral need to get his dark yet hopeful perspective out into the world, following his ‘sheltered upbringing’ in a working-class suburban family, which hid him from the atrocities of the modern world. Now, deep into the trials and tribulations of adolescence, he is discovering the realities of adulthood and using his music plus animations to make sense of it all.
Skira elaborates on the creation process behind “Warm”:
“‘Warm’ is so personal to me, and executed in such a raw emotional performance that you can really feel that I meant what I was singing about. Recording it by myself brought out that powerful emotion in my delivery and creative process.”
With an organic following of bedroom music heads and kids from the suburbs who relate to the heartbreak of being exposed to the truths of adult life, Skira knows he has a unique perspective to share – and is bringing his people with him. His latest single, “Warm,” is a prime example, an emotional ballad about a high school crush that didn’t seem to work out no matter how much he tried. Look out for more from Skira coming soon!
