YNOT Takes Over Pikehall to Party with Kasabian, Royal Blood, Jamie Webster and more [Photos]

The last weekend is a busy weekend for festivals across the UK so, despite the current cost of living crisis, it’s great to see so many music fans heading out to the many locations across the UK to enjoy a weekend of live music and entertainment. YNOT in the Peak District, another regular on the UK festival circuit, was one of the events held over the weekend and our photographer Carla Mundy headed along to bring back these photos.

Friday
With so much to choose from on the Friday across multiple stages at Pikehall, the festival really made sure it started in ernest with a first full day of quality music. From the main stage headlined by Brighton rockers Royal Blood who were joined by a supporting cast including The Wombats and The Reytons, YNOT also gave main stage opportunities rising acts like Daisy Brain and Cat Ryan. Elsewhere Day One saw the brilliant Maisie Peters, indie stars The Pigeon Detectives and alt-rockers The Hara head-up the other stages. Joining the quality headliners was an equally solid line-up including Phoebe Green, Kid Kapichi and Snayx.

Saturday
Like most festivals taking place this UK, music fans were clearly not going to let a little thing like the terrible Summer weather ruin their weekend as Day Two saw riotous indie stars Kasabian and fellow indie heavyweights James head up the main cast. Joining the pair across the day, Everything Everything, Yonaka and Bloxx grabbed headline slots elsewhere while The Lathums, Caity Baser, The Murder Capital and Cassyette demonstrated the wealth of quality new bands shaking up the music scene across the UK. Elsewhere more established acts like Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Kate Nash made sure the second full day at YNOT was just one long party.

Sunday
There was no danger that the final day at YNOT would sign off with anything other than a bang as mod rocker Paul Weller brought YNOT to a raucous conclusion. Leading up to his headline set, DMAs, brilliant singer-songwriters Jamie Webster and KT Tunstall and rising acts like Crawlers, Billy No Mates and BILK again showed YNOTs support of up and coming music with many of the rising acts across the weekend already on their way to becoming regulars on the UK festival circuit. After a weekend of new acts and established favourites, it was left to Paul Weller to bring the curtain down on YNOT 2023 with a set that confirmed his status as one of the UK legends.
