Earlier this year, French metal band Except One, dropped their new album Broken. Following up on the success of the album and their last single, “In Nomine,” which racked up over 100k views on YouTube, the group are now ready to drop their new single, “Silent Scream.”

The track is taken from their new album, Broken which finally dropped on January 15, 2022, and, despite the pandemic forcing the band to push the release date back nearly a year, the theme on Broken wasn’t inspired by the pandemic.

The band comments:

“We always have a ratio between personal songs and others that broach on social issues. We didn’t feel the need to write about what was going on. We’re lucky enough to have a close-knit band, nobody was left behind. On the contrary, we got closer even at a distance.”

Speaking about the inspiration behind the powerful single, vocalist Estelle told us:

“The silent scream of inner sufferings that can lead to doing something irreparable, despite the efforts and energy used to stay afloat and the promises made to close ones which won’t save you from drowning in the end.”

With the band now ready to release their new single, “Silent Scream,” V13 is stoked to be hosting the premiere so check out the video above.

Having already torn up stages across Europe supporting the likes of Jinjer, Lacuna Coil and Betraying the Martyrs, the group is ready to take their sonic intensity to the next level with the new single so, strap in, switch this up and prepare for this French crew to wreck your neck…

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
