Hear Voodoo Drummer’s Cover of Pink Floyd’s “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun”
Voodoo Drummer delivered an experimental, instrumental cover of Pink Floyd’s “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun” in 7/8 Greek rhythm.
This one is interesting. Voodoo Drummer delivered an experimental, instrumental cover of Pink Floyd’s “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun” in 7/8 Greek rhythm. If that ain’t enough, the song includes tubular bells, cello and musical saw.
According to the artist:
“In this 7/8 rhythm the melody mixes with the theme of John Coltrane’s ‘A Love Supreme’ while the Greek traditional tune ‘Milo mou kokkino’ closes the recording. These influences along with the ones by Moondog and Erik Satie dominate my work.”
