To anyone who is a frequent visitor of this site, or just someone who knows their modern hard rock and metal, you’re bound to know Julien-K, a band that we have featured many times before. Well, Julien-K are back with their brand new record Harmonic Disruptor, singles from which will start dropping today and will be available for purchase/streaming right here. It’s a double shot of luck for you today though, since not only has the title track come out, but we also have the premiere of its lyric video! If you’re curious at all whether this album will be worth your time, all it will take is one listen of this single to get you hyped up to the highest of heights. It’s layered with all of the catchy, electronic hard rock grooves you could possibly want in one song.

Be forewarned, the electronic grooves on “Harmonic Disruptor” are pretty damn infectious:

Commenting on the song (and effectively, the album), its sound, and its style, the collectively band stated, “Harmonic Disruptor takes Julien-K back to its dark industrial ‘90s roots that they found success with in Orgy’s first album, Candyass. It sounds as if NIN Broken era and Ministry smashed into Orgy at its prime. Visceral and pounding, with singer Ryan Shuck showing an entirely different violent take on his usually smooth Gahan-esqe vocal style. Amir Derakh’s signature guitar sound developed in the Orgy days is definitely back for this album.”

You can count Harmonic Disruptor now as the fifth album released by Julien-K after yet another successful crowdfunding effort on Indigogo. Although this is commonly bantered about when a new album is released, there’s no question that Harmonic Disruptor is Julien-K in their finest moment as it sees them return to the heavy industrial rock roots the began over two decades ago when Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh were apart of Orgy. It’s also reminiscent of Julien-K’s 2009 fine debut release Death 2 Analog, an album that illustrated why they were just about to become one of the most influential acts in electronic rock music. Successful tours over the last couple of years with the likes of Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, The Cult, and Jonathan Davis served as great tuneups for the recording of Harmonic Disruptor, with a tour opening for The Birthday Massacre to begin in March.
