Tom Walker @ O2 Ritz (Manchester, UK) on October 14, 2018 [Photos & Show Review]
Singer-songwriter Tom Walker prepares for the release of his long-awaited new album with a sold-out gig in Manchester. Check out the review and photos here.
Following his hit single, “Leave A Light On”, everybody loves Tom Walker. The radio hit turned the Scottish singer-songwriter into a household name so, unsurprisingly, this gig is VERY sold-out. Although, as it’s almost a local gig for the Scot, having being raised in Manchester during his childhood, the chances of ever getting a ticket for this gig once the date was announced were always going to be pretty slim.
A couple of songs in and Tom Walker addresses the crowd “Manchester, this is fucking mental! Does anyone remember when I played at Gorilla? Now I’m playing to somewhere five times as big as that!”. Now, given his meteoric rise to fame, it’d be fair to expect that, following the release of his upcoming new album, the next time he addresses a Manchester crowd, it’s likely to be five times the size of this one. Enjoying every minute of his time on stage, Walker bounces all over the place, right from opener “Fly Away” and through the likes of “My Way”, “Walk Alone” and “Rapture”.
Check out the video for Tom’s hit single “Leave A Light On”:
It may only be a thirteen song set but, by the time we get to that song at the end of the night, the Scot has shown he is more than just a one-hit wonder and, as the night crashes to a glorious finale, his finest moment to date heralds the start of what is surely going to be an incredible next chapter for the singer-songwriter.
