We are thrilled to bring you the exclusive premiere of the new “Fix Me” video from fast-emerging alternative rock band Eyes Eat Suns. The single was released last month, but now the video has arrived. The song itself is the ultimate anthem of the underdog, or for those who feel as though they just don’t quite fit in. Lyrically speaking, singer and songwriter Ayisa Adderley connects themes of self-worth and confidence to those who are having a difficult time finding their place in today’s world of unaccepting and unapologetic societal norms. The message behind the song as well as behind Eyes Eat Suns is that it’s ok to be different and really it’s a lot better than just “being normal” or just being like everyone else. If you’d like to get your own copy of “Fix Me,” you can get that right here!
Originally from North Carolina, Eyes Eat Suns is a band formed by Ayisa Adderley and Caige Crampshee who play indie alt-rock. The two were first brought together by a mutual friend who asked them to perform at a local Habitat For Humanity event where they got talking. From there, the seeds were planted and they have since written and recorded three EPs and toured across the continent. The band take their inspiration from Paramore, Tonight Alive and Fickle Friends which helps motivate their alternative rock with pop songwriting sensibilities. Their sound is fresh and bouncy and without a doubt, infectious.
Commenting on “Fix Me,” Adderley said, “We wanted to capture the essence of where we are in our lives and celebrate our fresh, new sound with a birthday theme. Everyone feels differently about their birthday; and, as we get older, we tend to feel like we’re walking aimlessly or just getting by. We either love or hate that time of year because getting older never feels like getting older. We’ve realized that the gifts we receive through life aren’t always the gifts we ask for. Knowledge is a gift, but you’re sometimes confronted with things you don’t want to know. Regardless of what it is, it’s either changed, mended, or accepted, and that’s the concept behind ‘fix that, fix this…fix me.”
