Be a “Passenger” to HIPPO CAMPUS’ Brand New Song Stream

Minneapolis’ Hippo Campus has released their first new material since their warmly received EP last year, with the release of their new, standalone single “Passenger.” The track is a pensive, slow-burning indie pop tune, produced by regular-collaborator BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Sylvan Esso, Francis & The Lights).
“Passenger’ was written in the winter of 2017 after the first four months of touring on landmark,” commented singer/guitarist Jake Luppen. “Lyrically the themes deal with the challenges of growing alongside the person you love. For this song in particular I tried to challenge myself to write a more complex chord progression to sing to. I started off with a TR-8 groove and the rest followed pretty naturally.”
