Carpenter Brut (w/ Le Matos) @ Danforth Music Hall (Toronto, ON) on April 27, 2018 [Photos & Show Review]
Carpenter Brut brought some serious synth hurt to the Danforth Music Hall on April 27th, along with a driving good time thanks to openers, Le Matos.
Walking into the Danforth Music Hall is always a pleasure; it may just be one of my favourite venues in Toronto.
I arrived early to ensure I made it for Montreal’s own Le Matos as the last time I saw these guys, at the Velvet Underground, I was entertained. This time around; however, I was hooked! The duo has really polished their show since I last saw them and I really appreciated their use of white lights during their set. Standout tracks “Montrose” and “Interceptor” are great, but in hearing them live, they take on a whole new level.
Carpenter Brut brought the synth hurt! They did not fuck around and just banged out hit after hit, crushing the audience with tracks from the latest release, Leather Teeth, and must-hear crowd-pleasers like “Turbo Killer”, “Meet Matt Stryker” and “Maniac”. Always a gold show, Carpenter Brut bring the noise, vibes and good times with each and every one of their performance.
