Created by Andrew James of Edmonton’s Eye of Horus and Shotgunner, his new project is a one man folk-metal band called North Hammer. As a sample, below is a stream of the new track “Magic Mead.” It comes from the project’s debut album Stormcaller. Andrew is a one-man band on this debut release, writing and recording the guitar, bass, vocals, and orchestration with drums done by Doug Helcaraxë Nunez.
Andrew recently explained the significance of his band’s name, “The ‘north’ part was a representation of the common theme winter that comes up in metal music, including folk metal. It is also a reference to my native Canada. ‘Hammer’ is a reference to Mjolnir, Thor’s Hammer!”
