DESTROYER OF LIGHT See Things as Quite ‘Hopeless’ with New EP Release

Austin, Texas-based psychedelic doom metal band Destroyer of Light have risen in 2018 with the release of a brand new EP called Hopeless. The band has also released a music video for “Nyx” which you can see below and is featured on the new record.
This is the latest release from the quartet and will be released on May 11th through Heavy Friends Records. The band has been tearing it up lately, with the release last year of the critically praised Chamber of Horrors and a promise to release a follow-up full-length next year. Hopeless is a dark record, but that’s to be expected if you’re a long time fan of the band.
“With Hopeless, I wanted to focus more on my clean singing, and our song writing has become more melodic while still maintaining the heavy riffs,” explains guitarist/vocalist Steve Colca. “We don’t limit ourselves to what we write, and the direction you’ll hear on this EP is a taste of what’s to come in the future.”
When you listen to Hopeless, you’ll hear the unmistakable influence of Electric Wizard, Mercyful Fate, EYEHATEGOD, Sleep and Autopsy and many more. Destroyer of Light will be hitting the road for an extensive West Coast tour in support of the new EP.
