Solar Twin is the new project from Shane Tutmarc, the-Nashville based and Seattle-born singer, producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. With this project’s debut album Pink Noise due out on October 11th (digitally) and November 11th (on vinyl) (pre-order here), we’re thrilled to be debuting the lyric video for his new single “Salvation”. The clip itself is composed of amazing Nirvana footage and comes just a day before the anniversary of Nevermind being certified gold (October 12, 1991).

We were also lucky enough to get a quote from the artist about the album, video and reason for Nirvana: “‘Salvation’ was written early in the writing process of Pink Noise. It was born from reading the news and all the terrible things going on, and wondering what we can do as artists. I’d really love to see music be a strong force for change again, like it was in the late 60s and early 70s. But it seems that most artists these days are afraid to speak out, to get political, or even get too personal. I’m not saying that I am the ideal candidate for that role, but this song is more about encouraging artists to stand up and share their truth. Originally, Kurt Cobain was just gonna be a small part of the video, with tons of other clips relating to the lyrics, but once I gathered all that great footage of him smashing his guitars, it was just mesmerizing. I didn’t want it to cut to anything else. Kurt really represents an honesty and dignity that I feel like this song is all about, at it’s core.”
