PEELING Reveal More from ‘7 Years of Blood’ with Stream for “Away From You”
Peeling have released a stream for “Away From You,” from their forthcoming 7 Years of Blood EP.
Peeling have released a stream for “Away From You,” from their forthcoming 7 Years of Blood EP. The EP is the second release from the band, following on the heels of the band’s 2016 Buzz Records debut EP, Rats in Paradise. “Away From You” is the second single from the new EP and delves into the EP’s overarching themes of agency and control, beginning as a self-described “break up song” but functioning as an assertion of independence.
“Away From You’ is essentially about moving on from a relationship where you still love your partner but need to forge your own path,” Lee commented. “I wrote it after a romance in my life ended and I felt a bittersweet acceptance rather than devastation and animosity. Making the choice to go my own way was uncomfortable and daunting, but it was the right thing to do. There’s no use in hanging on after the expiry date.”
