Jason Achilles Mezilis is Los Angeles, CA-based rock guitarist, orchestral composer, and record producer. He has a tremendous list of accolades, but we’re not here to talk about that. Instead, we want to focus on this talented musician’s debut solo record, the instrumental rock album, Comedown (grab a copy right here), and accompanying music video for the “Tokyo Drift” single.

Comedown was produced by Mezilis himself at his downtown L.A. boutique recording studio, Organic Audio Recorders. The album, which includes Brett Rocha (drums), Yoko Morimoto (photography), and original interior art piece commissioned by Greek digital photographic artist Panos Tsagaris, was recorded and mixed entirely analog.

Mezilis commented on the “Tokyo Drift” music video: “Director Tyler Jackson, Annette and myself shot this with an iPhone. We ran late into the night, maybe 10 hours or so…capturing the city…all across LA through the Valley, Korea Town, the Wilshire district, downtown and Chinatown and finally back into Hollywood proper. Annette was brilliant…with an ethereal-sort of innocence and curiosity that captured the music perfectly. We basically turned her loose on the city, and tried to keep up.”
