Suicide Silence played to a nearly sold-out Gramercy Theater in New York City on the Straight Outta Hell Tour–a co-headlining run with fellow deathcore giants Whitechapel. The lineup featured fellow heavy-hitters, Carnifex, Oceano, and the godfathers of deathcore, Canadian band Despised Icon, who appeared on just four dates of the entire tour. Fans proved their dedication by not only staying through a show that was running late, but also refusing to leave the venue when the fire alarm went off before Despised Icon’s set!

Frontman Eddie Hermida got the crowd moving immediately, dancing around the stage as the band opened with “Unanswered” off their debut record, The Cleansing, eventually even coaxing attendees sat in seats to run down and participate in a wall of death during “Disengage.” Their setlist included a solid mix of old and new, pleasing new fans and scene veterans alike.

Although this tour is over, Suicide Silence will be releasing new music in the form of their self-titled record in February 2017, keep an eye out for that album and the next tour cycle that is sure to follow it.
