Fizzy Blood – “Animals” [Song Review]
Leeds-based five piece Fizzy Blood are currently on a meteoric rise, and this new single is only going to serve to push them ever upwards. Check out our drooling review inside.
I’ve already talked about how catchy the British are when it comes to making a single, from my review of Wah Wah Club’s single earlier this year. But I think the theory is becoming the law with the likes of this new single by Leeds-based UK heavy rock aficionados Fizzy Blood.
First things first, this band have been doing everything right in the two years they’ve been active, touring extensively and playing every festival they can get their hands on.
But there’s something else going on here. It’s very clear this band have exactly the right type of heavy rock, intense vocals, and gothy, grim glam that manages to jump around from the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age, Electric Wizard, The Misfits, and Wavves. Or maybe my cup runneth over from all the crushing intensity of “Animals”, a clear radio-poised hit, if only those on the receiving end are ready to be fucking annihilated by its sickening wrath. This is a wallop of raw intensity that is generally lacking in heavy rock channels these days, but it appears that this band may be looking to put a stop to that and soon.
Be on the look out for this group, they’re currently on the rise, and if you’re too slow, you’ll only be able to see them from nosebleeds before you know it.
