Check out this free song download for “Serpent Buzz” from Hamilton, Ontario band Pet Sun! You’ve probably heard of garage rock but I’ll bet you’ve never heard of “pulled pork garage rock” which is the way Pet Sun describes themselves. This is a band all about fuzz pedals, bass pounding, and loud ass guitars all topped off with some extreme head banging. Pet Sun isn’t just a new band but rather brand new, having formed as recently as March of 2013. In that short span, they’ve already gotten together a debut demo that channels the group’s diverse garage sounds along with an acoustic song called “My Mind’s a Sofa.”

On top of the demo, Pet Sun released in September a rough and raw EP, recorded in the basement where they do most of their jamming. They decided to call the EP Serpent Buzz, which if you have a keen memory you might realize the Nirvana connection. Pet Sun are intent on developing a local following right now which has led to frequent shows in the Toronto, Hamilton and Montreal areas. With all they’ve accomplished in only eight months, watch out for Pet Sun in 2014.
