Album Review
Fallen Joy – “Order To Die” [EP]
Fallen Joy is a French melodic death metal band formed by Victor Gallot-Lavallée and Leandro Daloi. Order To Die is the band’s first EP and was self-released in 2010. As their debut was so strong, Fallen Joy quickly signed with Spread the Metal Records and now a new album is soon to come. If Order To Die is any indication, Fallen Joy will have a long and fulfilling career at the forefront of melodic death metal; the band certainly know how to write a song.

Anyone who has read my previous reviews will by now know that I totally love the melodic death metal sound. Bands with the Maiden-ish twin guitar attack and sing along songs, like Amon Amarth or old-school In Flames, are a big plus in my book! Bearing that in mind, song-wise this band delivers in spades. They know how to write some damn catchy mellow death with great hooks. I just can’t imagine anyone into this style of music listening to songs like “Hoisting the Black Flag” and NOT loving it. This is a solid EP and I look forward to the hearing their full-length soon!
