The Skinny: In support of their debut self-titled album out May 29th on No Idea Records, Oxnard/Ventura, CA-based punk and hardcore band Stop Breathing have premiered the second new song from their upcoming release, titled “What I Want.” In addition, the band has recently announced a series of upcoming West Coast dates taking place this spring and early summer, performing alongside such legendary artists as Suicidal Tendencies, The Dwarves, Strife, Municipal Waste, Dr. Know and more.

Recorded by Roger Camero (No Motiv/Warriors/Gravemaker) at Bright Lights Studio and mastered by Paul Miner (Death By Stereo/H20) at Buzz Bomb Sound Labs, Stop Breathing’s debut LP channels the energy and urgency of their area’s historic Nardcore predecessors, while merging it with late 80’s hardcore. Imagine RKL partying it up in New York City during the late 80’s and you get a picture of where they’re coming from.

Stop Breathing frontman and drummer for The Fucking Wrath John Crerar says of the new album: “All the songs are kinda varied subject wise but I guess I would say the songs are about living in our fucked up times, but knowing life is short, and that we gotta make the most of the time we have. We are not going to put up with the shit that is constantly being thrown at us anymore. We’re not gonna be quiet and take it.”
