Mean Jeans – “Anybody Out There” [Free Download]

When their superpowers combine, guitarist and vocalist Billy Jeans, drummer and vocalist Jeans Wilder and bassist Freak Daniels form Captain Planet! Sorry, I meant Mean Jeans! The trio is a freakin’ fantastic punk band from Portland whose music is plain perfect for punchin’ and partyin’. In 2009 they released Are You Serious! and now, after too long of a gap, they’re finally back with a new LP entitled On Mars. Due out April 17th via Dirtnap Records the new effort should be equally pleasing for both old and new fans alike.

Most good bands will evolve over time and on On Mars, Mean Jeans are more mature, focused and diverse than ever before. While there are certainly poppier moments throughout the disc, as well as more hooks, this doesn’t detract from its appeal nor muddy the band’s original sound. Coming just in time for the warmer weather, for many this release should quickly become a Summer soundtrack. Check out the free download of “Anybody Out There” and spread the word to your friends.
