Foo Fighters – “These Days” [Song Review]
“These Days” is the third single off of the Foo Fighters’ excellent seventh record, Wasting Light. After taking a couple of year break, the band has enjoyed a renaissance of sorts with Wasting Light. That isn’t to suggest that the group’s first six records aren’t spectacular, but Wasting Light has done well to remind everyone just what an amazing talent Dave Grohl really is.

Although you could really pick any song off the record to be a single, “These Days” is a very worthy selection. Like so many Foo Fighters songs, it starts slow, gathers momentum and finishes hard. It’s more like a ballad than anything else off of Wasting Light, although Grohl still makes sure to include some of his trademark screams and growls in the chorus. The song’s lyrics are easy to relate to for any listener and it’s definitely a good ‘sing-along’ track for fans at live shows. Another masterpiece by Grohl and company.
