Interview with Sariah [Exclusive]

Recently we had the opportunity to catch up with Pop/Dance artist, Sariah. Read up on a lot of interesting things you may not have known about Sariah.

Hi Sariah! As this is your first interview with MaxMuzik, let’s start off with a little background. How did you get into music?
Sariah: Hi there! Thank you for having me. I first got into music when I was very young. Musical Theater has always been a passion of mine. I was in every school play and musical possible! From there, I continued to study every Summer and even attend intensive programs for Theater. My Pop passion began in high school during these programs. I was always a writer and so I was able to translate all of my teenage drama into songs! It was a magical time for me.

For our readers who’ve never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words.
Sariah: Sexy, confident, fun, energetic, and powerful!

Can you offer insight into some of your musical inspirations?
Sariah: Growing up I listened to Mariah Carey every morning and every night. Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, and many others were major musical inspirations and still are.

You released your video for “All About Sex” on YouTube early this week. What was the experience of shooting the video like for you?
Sariah: It was the best experience of my life! Our first day on set was un-real! I actually had to take a few moments to myself before we began because I was so incredibly excited and anxious! I have such a strong and talented team that it made me so happy when I saw them watching the play back with beaming smiles on their faces. I knew that this video was going to be really special, and it certainly is. I wish I could do it over, and over, and over again!

You have a lot of remixes for “All About Sex” and your previous single “Deep N Luv”. Who would you like to collaborate with in the near future?
Sariah: That’s a great question! I have many people in mind but I’d rather surprise you once they happen.

If you could open up for an artist right now, who would it be and why?
Sariah: I would love to open for the Female Pop Diva’s on tour right now like Pink, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, or Beyonce. I really love the feminine power that they all have and would love to be a part of it.

Speaking of shows, what are you touring plans for the rest of the year?
Sariah: We will have future dates posted very soon so everyone can come and have a great time!

What artists would fans be surprised to find on your iPod?
Sariah: I love Sara Bareilles because her writing touches my heart. I also love, love, love my hip-hop music for when I work out! I really listen to all genres of music and I think it’s important that I do.

Any final thoughts or parting words?
