Album Review
Corpus Christi – “A Feast For Crows”
Latin is an ancient language that now provides endless naming possibilities for rock and metal bands alike. Take for example Victory Records artists Carnifex (Latin for executioner) or another group from the same label, Corpus Christi who’s name, borrowed from this ancient language, means “body of Christ.” The latter just released their second album, A Feast For Crows, and this record is a medium with which the band can spread their faith as well as loud, impacting, Christian themed music.

Jarrod Christman (I see the humour!) is the only reoccurring member from Corpus Christi’s debut album, The Darker Shades Of White. This may worry fans but never fear, the band still has lots of melody and rocks even harder than before. Corpus Christi remains a true metalcore act with the same thrashing guitar riffs and breakdowns that fans have come to love. During the verses there is outward screaming via Max O’Connell, followed by melodic singing during the choruses by Jarrod Christman. It is a simple formula that works and in no time you find yourself humming along to the choruses. Fans will be amazed with how heavy the songs are, even with some poppy influences. I’m envisioning bigger circle pits with their new style of music.
A Feast For Crows is like a full coarse meal for kids to gobble up. Fans of Arise And Ruin, A Day To Rememeber, Farewell To Freeway and Beneath The Sky will really be interested in this new Corpus Christi lineup. And of course, old fans ought to keep on loving them as well. [ END ]
