ALLOY Podcast 41: Featuring No Living Witness
Episode Summary: ALLOY Hosts Matt and Ben went up to Salem, OR to meet up with No Living Witness who was in town from Olympia, WA and had a great chat with them outside of a Subway Sandwich shop in downtown Salem. They were cool people, but at different points heard that members of the band didn’t like AC/DC, Pantera or Slayer! Call us old-fashioned, but we weren’t sure we could air the interview after that. They are a great band, however, so don’t judge them too harshly.
Matt loves Lady Gaga for Gaga’s sake!
Also, Matt and Ben put Tony of American Me on blast for the cluster-fuck that was supposed to be Moshfest 2.0. For those of you that don’t know, Moshfest 2.0 is something Tony, American Me vocalist, was putting on in Beaverton, OR. He asked Matt to help get some bands, so Matt got him a bunch. Matt had this to say about the experience, “I talked all the bands into paying $250 up front for 50 tickets that they could sell at $10 each, because that’s what he asked of me and I was trying to be helpful. I thought it would be a good experience and opportunity for the bands.”
“Turns out all any of us learned is that Tony is an asshole and, more importantly a thief. Which sucks for the rest of American Me. They are all great dudes and great musicians. I guess they don’t realize their vocalist is a sketch ball.” Matt called him a thief because after 10 minutes of the first band, the owner of the building shut the whole thing down. Tony promised to re-book the show and never did. None of those bands, to our knowledge, recieved a refund for the tickets they bought and were supposed to sell for a show that never happened. Listen to the show for more.
