The Skinny: Lipht has been rocking the Edmonton music scene with their punchy, heavy sound for almost 5 years now. The debut EP A Generation Removed was recorded at Beta Sound Studio in Edmonton by Kevin Hoskin and Kenton Gilchrist of Resonance Industries. The time in studio was thoroughly enjoyable and it was great to work with a team that we trusted and respected. The songs then made their way to master craftsman Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound for engineering and a final polish.
Once available for distribution, the songs received immediate attention. The track “Believe” was selected for a compilation CD by RadioUgly (Volume 1). Raw Vegas TV selected “Can’t Control This” as the music for their UFC fight promotion, and the song continues to be heard on Fox Sports South’s MMA commercials. The music has been featured on NADP drag racing video and has won voter competitions in the U.S. via internet radio stations. Lipht was also chosen for fight night entertainment by Mixed Martial Arts association King of the Cage. Lipht has played shows with Vince Neil, Days of the New, Portal, Chunk and many other notable bands. Alberta is host to some fantastic music festivals which Lipht has played such as Band Ranch, Boonstock and this year Alberta’s Own.
