R&B sensation Mariah the Scientist took the stage on April 5th at the Strand Ballroom in Providence, RI, alongside openers Chxrry22 and DJ Honey. The stop was among the latter half of her To Be Eaten Alive tour promoting her third studio album of the same name.
The Atlanta native has absolutely blown up over the last couple of years and that was reflected in the crowd in Providence. The place was packed by the time Chxrry22 came on stage. Her R&B slow jams were the perfect opening to a Mariah the Scientist show. DJ Honey took the stage immediately after to provide some absolute bops while the crowd sang along. By the end of DJ Honey’s set, the crowd was chanting “Mariah!” repeatedly, begging for the headliner to appear.
Mariah came out fashionably late, to no one’s chagrin. The crowd was just ecstatic to be there. She played hits from all three of her studio albums and various EPs. She started the night with “Good Times” and rolled through an impressive 25-song set through the night before ending with “Spread Thin” and “From A Woman.” Her radiant smile and impressive vocals had the concert-goers enthralled.
There’s no doubt Mariah the Scientist is a rising star. She is an artist to watch over the next year, and I can see her exceeding expectations as she goes. This show was worth the catch, and I suggest fans grab tickets for the remaining dates while they still can.
