Despite her stature as the reigning queen of heavy metal, Doro has always been one of those artists that metalheads seem to either love or hate. Sadly many people attack her music, label it as cheesy and even make all sorts of sexist comments. Haters be damned, Doro never seemed to pay attention to the negative press and has soldiered on for over 25 years. Let’s be honest, she’ll probably keep making metal until she dies. Her enthusiasm for metal culture is abundant in her songs and is so refreshing in a genre filled with negativity.

Under My Skin is a mammoth two disc collection by legendary metal singer Doro Pesch. Even though she’s been playing heavy metal professionally since 1984, Doro never seemed to be able to get the same respect or sales figures as did other metal singers (Ozzy, Dio, or even Motorhead). Sexism probably played the largest role in this as until just recently, metal has always been perceived as a boys club with no girls allowed. This is too bad as Pesch’s works certainly holds up with the best of the genre… as this compilation proves.

Watch a brand new music video from Sister Sin featuring Doro (of Warlock) for the cover of Motorhead’s “Rock N Roll.” “I love Sister Sin… I’m so excited about “Rock ‘N Roll” and think it came out great, just fantastic,” commented Doro on the collaboration. See what else Doro had to say about working with Sister Sin in a new video below (video 2).
